Maximum Productivity, Part 4

Spoiler alert!

Rather than tell you the second most important thing you need to do for explosive growth, like the title says, I am going to start with the most important thing.

Are you ready?

The most important thing you can do to generate any kind of change is to do the work to make the change happen. That is the most important thing, and it’s not hard if you set yourself up for success.

Now for the second most important thing.

In life and in business we have goals.

And a goal for a new result or outcome, by definition, requires us to do something to make the goal a reality. We need to invest time in doing the necessary activities to achieve the goal, whatever they are.

Many business owners have goals to change their business, but their calendar does not relect this priority.

This situation is easily corrected, if we start in the beginning with a plan.

In this mini-series we have created a goal, broken our goal down to smaller pieces, and calculated how much time we need to have to do the work to achieve the goal.

The next amd most important step so far, is to schedule this time in our planner, in advance. Without doing this we have relegated our goal to a “I’ll do it when I have time” status.

Without scheduling time to work on your goal in your daily planner, you will never have the time, and success will evade you, once again.

We have all been there, and have done that.

Your meeting in your calendar must be protected like every other appointment. You must not avoid this meeting if you truly want to grow your business.

There is still no guarantee you will actually do the work, which is truly where the rubber meets the road. But, having the time scheduled significantly improves your chances by putting the odds in your favor.

Successful people plan their work time and schedule it in their calendar at the beginning of the week, for the entire week, oftentimes for a month in advance. Many find it easiest to have a set time every day and commit to this routine.

Embarking on this plan can be rough, at first. I highly recommend doing it for at least a month on faith.

Try it today.

If you missed any other earlier issues in this series, you can look them up here or watch for the summary tomorrow.

Remember, you only get results when you take immediate action on your ideas.
