Feedback Surprise

I got some feedback about my business the other day, and it took me by surprise.

It was not necessarily bad feedback. It had to do with a small part of my web presence.

My priority is delivering uncompromising service to my clients and that’s where I put 100% of my focus. They will agree, by the way.

I spent very little time licking my wounds, because the feedback was minor, and certainly not a crisis.

As you know from reading these emails, I treasure feedback. Feedback is about our culture, which is our brand.

What?

I know, the first time I heard that I went into “Coca-Cola” mode and talked about all the things I was doing to create my brand, and the money I was spending. We’ve all been there.

Then a wise person defined my brand in a way that blew my mind.

He said, your brand is what people say about you when you’re not listening.

Wow, that’s impactful, and it’s also true.

If people say you won’t let them get hurt at your gym, that is part of your brand as a safe place to work out. The opposite is also true.

We create and influence our brand more by what we do than what we advertise and promote.

Every little thing matters in the fitness business, especially in our current world.

The thing is that we still determine our brand, not in the short term as much as over the long haul.

It’s worth repeating, everything we do contributes or detracts from our brand.

In the end we still have control and influence over what people say when we’re not listening, and the best part is that it costs us very little money.

In yesterday’s video, I kicked off a series of videos on how to use our Google reviews more effectively.

This series is, at it’s roots, about branding at a very basic level. You can find it on my channel.

Today’s short video:

Today’s video is Google Rebuilding/Updating Google Reviews, Part 2, Enjoy!

I’ve carved out a little time tomorrow to update some details and strengthen my brand.

Remember, you only get results if you take immediate action on your ideas!
