Remember the History Channel’s Ice Road Trucker.
It featured daring truck drivers driving on ice across large bodies of water in the Canadian winters.
The show was highly rated and reruns are still featured and very popular today.
Yesterday, I attended a talk by Alex Dobrowolski, Ice Road Trucker’s costar, and the only driver featured on all eleven seasons of the show.
To hear his inside stories behind the top-rated show was interesting.
Insider secrets are always interesting.
For example, I never knew that the ice moves ahead of the trucks. As Alex explained it, the truck sits on top of the ice, and the ice sits on top of the water.
I never thought of it this way, but when I do, it makes sense that the ice would move.
To be clear, I have no need to drive on the ice, but I love the insight of this example. Insider’s information is incredibly valuable.
Insider secrets are nothing more than shortcuts to a better understanding of something.
This is really helpful in business. On our path to mastering a new goal, an insider’s secret can save us frustration and angst, in addition to time and money.
