The Peach Cobbler Was Ruined By The Pandemic

On my way to visit a couple of my VIP clients, and take care of some personal stuff, I stopped at a restaurant to grab some lunch. This was a major restaurant chain.

I don’t usually have dessert, but I do have a sweet tooth and I decided to “treat’ myself to dessert.

When I asked about the Peach Cobbler, the waitress had a noticeable frown come across her face. I couldn’t help but ask her if the cobbler was good.

Her response surprised me because she said it wasn’t as good as it used to be.

The questioning look on my face was all that she needed to happily continue telling me about the history of the cobbler.

Before the pandemic the cobbler was really good she added, but then during the pandemic with all the shortages, the restaurant started cutting corners on how they prepared the cobbler. And then she added that the restaurant never went back to their original recipe.

I ordered it anyway, and she was right. It was not very good.

Every business had to make adjustments during the pandemic and most of those adjustments involved cutting back in order to survive.

It simply had to be done.

But the pandemic is behind us and business is slowly returning to normal.

The smart business owner makes adjustments accordingly and returns to quality as quickly as possible. This is especially true of their signature products.

To do otherwise is business suicide.

This is a good time to do a quick inventory. If you are still living with ways you cut back on to survive, your customers certainly know it, and the last thing you want them talking about is how good things used to be.

Find the areas where you need to return to quality and weed them out, just like the weeds in a garden choking out the vegetables.

And make a big deal of your progress.

This is the story you want your team and your customers talking about!

Remember, you only get results when you take immediate action on your ideas.
