This morning’s bike ride is one I will not forget.
As I was riding down a gravel road, I saw what looked like an alligator in the distance. Sure enough, as I got closer I could see that it was an alligator, a big alligator.
I stopped my ride quite a distance from the beast, took a picture, using the zoom feature on my camera, turned around and headed back the way I came.
Less than a month ago I had never seen the beast in the wild. I had no idea what to look for, especially in the water, then I saw several small ones, and gradually I began to see bigger and bigger gators. Looking back, it was a natural progression.
The small business world, especially the fitness space, is still trying to recover from the past two years. It’s abundantly clear that we will never return to the old normal.
At the same time, there is more opportunity than ever, and we don’t have to dig too deep to realize the potential, or do we?
So much depends on us as leaders in the business world.
Are we curious about understanding the new future? Step one is figuring out where the potential market is and what it looks like on an individual basis. What are the common things we are seeing and hearing? Then we need to test our theories, keep redefining our image, and understand our ideal customers.
We all have experienced buying a new car of a particular color, say red. Suddenly we’re seeing red cars everywhere.
It’s like the whole world changed. Of course, it didn’t, but our perception of it did, and that makes all the difference.
Talk to your ideal customers and really listen to what they are saying. Pick up on the clues and tweak your marketing to address what’s going on in their minds. Become a student and relentlessly study your customers.
Knowing what to look for will lead you to seeing more and more of the same.
Best of all, you won’t be surprised and you’ll know exactly how to help them accomplish their goals, dreams, and desires.
Remember you get results if you take immediate action on your idea!
